Well, some of them remind me of when I was between, say, 17 and 25, which would have been in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I remember being thrilled by that Bob Luman single when it first came out (on Ronny Weiser’s Rollin’ Rock label). I remember listening to “It’s Witchcraft” on a compilation album that I took over to my friend Gilbert’s garage, where a few of us who were supposedly a band used to pretend to rehearse. I even remember seeing Roy Brown perform live at the Ice House in Pasadena!
Crabby – thanks for the story! That’s what makes this so much fun. You saw Roy Brown?? Wonderful. Closest I can come to that is Dizzy Gillespie in New York and The Ink Spots in a bar here in Portland. Not quite as exciting.
